Mary of Nazareth Catholic School has put a new spin on March Madness by holding our own "Tournament of Books". We started with the top books in our "Sweet 16", which were read to students in preschool through grade 4. The books were voted on and narrowed down to the "Final Four". Our guest readers were our principal, Mr. Quattrone, our PERCES Regional Superintendent, Mr. Cuniak and Fr. Adam, who read the "Final" books. The "Tournament of Books" winner was "Creepy Crayon". Everyone was very excited to participate and put a new "spin" on reading!
One of our 8th grade students, Matias K., participated in the 8th Annual Chess Invitational, held at Aquinas Academy of Pittsburgh. He proudly represented Mary of Nazareth class of 2024, in his MNCS hoodie. Matias won 3 out of 4 games and finished in 7th place out of 170 students. Congratulations on a job well done!
Mary of Nazareth Catholic School celebrated Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss’s birthday by having our 8th grade students read to our preschool, kindergarten and first grade students. The day encourages children to experience the joys and importance of reading. It’s also another way for our students to be a living example of God’s love!
