What is Cross Country?

  • It’s not just running, its building endurance, strength and self- confidence.
  • It is a fun and challenging sport in which you race as an individual and a team at the same time.
  • The meets aren’t like regular road races that you see, they are open-air courses over natural terrain such as dirt or grass.

The goal: Always try to beat yourself.
No previous experience is needed.
You don’t have to be the best as long as you do your best!!

When and Where: Practices will be held at White Oak Park 2 days a week beginning in August.
A total of 6 meets will be held at various locations on Sundays.
They begin at noon and last a couple hours between the various races.

Who: Students 2nd thru 8th grade interested in learning or building on the fundamentals of Cross Country.
